The Need for MIXING
Pipelines - When natural gas is harvested the quality of the gas is varied. Therefore, in order to provide a consistent, high quality product to end-users, energy companies must treat the harvested gas to provide the correct BTU content of the delivery gas. Therefore, additives are introducted into the pipeline unstream of a measuring station to achieve the proper BTU content. By installing a static mixing device downstream of the injection point, the measuring station can accurately read the BTU content to ensure the proper quality gas is delivered to end-users.
Landfill - When natural gas is harvested from landfills, the quality of the gas varies significantly. Similar to pipelines, additives are introduced into the gas line to acheive a desired BTU content for the process the gas is supplying. By mixng the harvested gas with the additive gas, the proper mixture can be accurately measured.
